  • *drum roll please*

    My day's been okay. I went to bed at 1am and woke up at 10:40am, which was nice considering I only got 3 hours of sleep the night before. I feel as though I wasn't very productive today... I don't know, it went by fast.

    I went to the grocery store.

    Studied my sociology flash cards for a good bit.

    Finished section 2.6 of my math homework.

    Took a math quiz and did horribly the first time! Took it the second time and still did really bad, but improved from the first time... which isn't saying much.

    Had a good dinner with my family. Steak, salad, and baked beans :)

    AND

    my professor finally posted the grades on blackboard! First anatomy and physiology exam score....

    88!

    Not too shabby if you ask me. Especially considering how the average score normally is in the low 60s. Mr. Aguiars (supplemental instructor) even told us that last year someone scored a 12 on an exam! Woooww. Yeah, if I got a 12 on something... I'd bawl my eyes out for days and possibly even drop out.

  • Today was a good day for you.

    I've gotten a zero before. It was a Physics summer course. Only 4 questions. Half the class got zeroes.

  • Sounds like college is off to a good start!

  • i have a friend who was a straight A student.  If he ever got an A- in a class, he'll cry. Once I saw him crying when he got a C on a quiz.

    You're probably 2 standard deviation from the mean, or possible 3. Are you graded on a curve?  I once had a final where the average is 24 (out of 100). I did really well at 65.

    Great job on the AP.  Glad u caught up on your sleep.

  • wow well done... u deserve the props on this one...

  • @stupid_systemus - I would've bawled my eyes out lol

    @ItIsAllGravy - So far it is :) I just got to make sure I don't get too comfortable and start slippin' haha

    @christianplainandsimple - thank you!

    @sf2slc - From what I've been told, none of my professors will use a curve in grading. ESPECIALLY in A/P! lol,

    @malestop - thank you!

  • @mypandabear - tough rowd [of professors], not grading on curves.  So technically, everyone can fail at the same time.  Bad policy.

  • @sf2slc - Maybe it's just because I was homeschooled, but I don't think it's a bad thing. In the real world just beacause  you do you job "the least crappy" doesn't make it good.

    I think it's more incentive to do well and learn the material.

  • @mypandabear - unfortunately, we have professors who do a bad job that many people failed. It took a few semesters with enough students complaining that the school finally do something about it. By then, grades of many students are messed up.

    At my school, many professors are researchers and that's where the money and fame come in.  They are just forced to teach, which they didn't like to do.

    Nobel Prize winners aren't the best professors, sadly.

    We were often graded on curves... never had issues with students doing a bad job.  too many overarchievers, but i wasn't one of them.
