  • A Lie Told in an Interview

Interviewer: “So why do you want to work at this company/job/place?”

What you say: “Oh I like the business and it’s seems like a great work environment and yadda yadda…”
Truth: “Because you pay and possibly because I don’t think working here would make me want to kill myself.”
    Yep lol.

  • Pretty much. Though a good company would ask a non-work question and extrapolate your response to give them an idea what kind of person you are. Psychology in the work place.

  • I never get to go to a professional interview.  Usually, my managers read my application and say, “When can you start?  I have a slot open for tonight.”  This turns out to be a test to see if you can come in when they need you, so be prepared to say, “yes.”  I get acquainted with my friends with felonies and the pedophiles during my first shift.

The military simply told me to show up on such and such date then started screaming at me.

That’s what happens when you’re disabled and work in America.

I did go to a store once and ask for an application and the manager told me never to come back because I was dressed poorly.  It was 9 pm at night, and I didn’t expect her to be there.  She was really rude to me, and I will never shop there again.  I told her point blankly that unless she wanted to provide me with some clothes that I couldn’t afford any.

Most of the places I work understand this and take my uniform out of my first check.

  • It’s only partly a fib.  Besides, anything that could help maintain and improve self-esteem is more than worth the initial exaggeration.

  • truthiness! ;.)

  • some jobs, yes – but as for a career, I hope not!!

  • @raspberryjade - Oh yes, lol, I definitely was referring to part time jobs, not career!
