Quick Question! For those who have internet on your phones!
So if you travel somewhere where there isn’t phone service/reception which inhibits you from being able to call or text, does it also inhibit you from being able to use the internet to get on facebook as well? Or is the internet connection/reception different from the texting/calling service/reception?
Don’t know? Then rec this please? I need to know for sure before a certain time today.

my phone will pick up Wi-Fi if its service isn’t working.
I don’t have internet installed on it now, but that’s how it worked in the past.
Yes, you will still be able to use internet services. WiFi uses a different protocol than your calling and texting services. When overseas, turn your roaming and cellular data off to avoid charges, and just leave WiFi enabled. Also, if you want to text, you can install an chat app that uses WiFi and not data (WhatsApp/KakaoTalk)
Usually if I don’t have phone service, I usually don’t get 4g/3g. I don’t know why/how it works though.
It’s all based on radio signal strength. If my cell signal is weak, usually my internet access is restricted.
@npr32486 - agree
I’ve never tried it, but I’m pretty sure when I have no 3G that the phone doesn’t work either. The 3G logo disappears when the phone signal drops so..
If you can’t call/text, you won’t be able to use internet unless:
1. You use data roaming, which is hella-expensive, or
2. Your phone can accept and plugs into a wifi connection.
Hope this helps!
It depends on if you’re in range of WiFi or not.
If you don’t get call/text reception, at times, you might still get internet, but very UNLIKELY.
If you can’t get calls, sometime text will go through. However, if no text and no calling, internet via phone (not wifi) is unlikely.
