RESPONSE
Before I got off to study, which my Dad interrupted later and kind of through off because we got into a deep talk, I read Secrets Issue 46... there was one inparticular which stood out to me. So while I'm taking a break right before bed, I thought I'd hop on and give a response to it.
I'm assuming by recover you are referring to an eating disorder, considering that seems to be a predominant issue on xanga, but even if it's not an eating disorder and it's actually a drug problem or alcohol problem or self harm... whatever it is... Speak up. Maybe the person you want to ask you doesn't know about your problem. Maybe they know but don't know what to say and they're afraid of saying the wrong thing and making it worse.
Asking for help is never easy, but a lot of time, it can be a life saving choice. And your life is worth saving.

Your life IS worth saving.
Amen.
I hope that person gets the help he/she needs.
'tis true, but in a lot of situations, whoever it is knows, and they're just lying to themselves, that's what my parents did about my self harm.. but hey you never know i suppose!!!
i recommended and then immediately regretted it..... not because of the content, but who's going to look at this at 4, almost 5 in the morning? lol
haha, that was mine and yes it's about an e.d.
...thank you so much
I'll definitely think about what you said. It is definitely not easy to ask for help because I could be disspointed, or lose my friends. But I also know that it is hard to get throgh to a person who doesn't speak out.
People are proud and often figure they can solve their own problem. People typically fall on their knees and pray as a last resort, instead of the first. Yeah, it's not easy asking for help because we figure we can figure things out, even when we can't.
I interpret it more as whomever the person this is directed at is trying to help, but going about it in all the wrong ways. The poster just wants them to ask what they can do, rather than insist they are helping but are actually making everything worse.

And good luck, I wish you nothing but the best. You deserve to be happy and recovered, and to have friends who will support you in when you need it <3
