    Neither.

It's the 535 members of the United States Congress

The same group of idiots that crank out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.

  • One word... bandwagon :P

I'm about to head to the fitness center on campus for a little bit. While I'm gone you can do this

Leave me a one word comment
that best describes me using the THIRD letter of your LAST name.
It can only be ONE word.
Then, post this to your blog
so I can leave a word about you.

Don't just post a word and not
copy, that's no fun! Give this a shot!

  • Explaining my truths

I didn't have cable until I was eleven.

This was the one reason I liked going to my grandparents when I was younger. Then again, I think it's best we didn't have it. Instead of sitting in front of a television for all hours we ran around and used our imaginations. *gasps*

I've caught my hair on fire before.

Yeah... so I was at work on a Monday last summer [2010] and it was slow, so I decided I'd bus a table or two to give me something to do. First table: I moved the candle, moved the salt and pepper shakers, moved the sugar and substitute sugar container, sprayed off the table, and wiped it down. Second table: I reached to moved the salt and pepper shakers, heard a little sizzly noise, look down and my hair was in flames! 0.0 So I immediately beat it out.. it stunk up my hair and two whole sections of the restaurant. LOL

    I'm afraid of dragonflies.

I don't know what it is.. something about the way they look and there eyes and just *shudders* They're creepy.

    I've never been camping.

Fact. My Mom's not really an outdoors-y person.

I've never ridden in a taxi.

I'm probably not missing out on much though lol.

I hate bacon and always have.

    Yep, it's gross!

I'm currently wearing a ankle that I've had on for over two years.

    100_4087

I made it at the beginning of summer in '09 and haven't taken it off since. It's getting a little worn out now though. :(

    I have never had lice.

Probably one of the benefits of being homeschooled.

I've ridden in the back of a police car.

After the robbery at Taco Bell, I'd ran over to Arby's and called the police. When they arrived they asked a few questions then wanted to me talk to the detectives who would be arriving at the Taco Bell. So instead of making me walk back over there, the police lady said she'd give me a ride. I guess passenger seat wasn't an option...

I once read thirty books in forty days.

I was on a reading spree, plus it was part of the time I was in the hospital so I didn't have anything else to do.

I cried when my Mom told me Santa Claus wasn't real.

Sadly true. I'm not even sure why, I think I was more upset that my Mom had lied to me all that time than the fact that he wasn't real lol.

    I'm notorious at ruining chapstick.

Yep. I'm terrible about leaving them in my pants and washing them, forgetting them in my car and melting them, or lying in front of the space heater in the winter with them in my pocket and melting them. Good thing they aren't terribly expensive.

I've worn soffe shorts and a tank top in the snow before.

    I felt fine...

    I've almost been arrested before.

Yeah, let's just say, that sucked.

I've had a fish poop in my hair before.

Labor Day weekend, 2007. I was at Heather house boat and Alex and I were fishing. Well, she was fishing, I was just "feeding the fish" lol. She caught one and brought it up. As it was raised into the air, it began to flail around and wound up in my hair.. causing me to shrink extremely loud. Oh... and while flailing, it pooped. :/ I was not a happy camper.

    Caterpillars freak me out.

    *shudders* Creepy, crawly, fuzzy, gross!

I carved my first pumpkin when I was thirteen.

We didn't really carve pumpkins for halloween as children. So it wasn't until I was thirteen that I really thought to ask my Mom if I could do one.

I once had a tick bite my butt.

On Easter Sunday, I was probably about five years old, we came home from the neighbors house were they had had their huge Easter egg hunt. I'm not sure how but evidentally, a tick had decided to reside on my buttocks. My Dad called my Aunt and asked how what to do and she said take a match and touch it to the tick and it should release... Umm, a little fact she forgot to mention... blow the match out first. Daddy burnt my butt! :( Worst part was it was already dead, so it wouldn't have released anyways. Oh, and everyone watched as I layed on the floor in the living room getting my butt burned, having nail polish globbed on it, having jelly put on it, etc.

I used to own and wear thongs.

Yeah, when I was like 15. I don't anymore because I prefer cuter, more wholesome, underwear.

I've ran away from home before.

It was when I was still with Richard. He caused a lot of fighting in the house and I believed he was the one that truly cared about me and loved me. Silly me. I was gone over night and returned in the morning.

I've gone to three funerals were I didn't even know the deceased.

    1) Great uncle J.D.: Never met the man, but I attended his funeral.

    2) Kelsey Gadberry: She was my best friends oldest sister and she died in a terrible car accident on February 4, 2007 :( She was a great girl and had such a bright future ahead of her.

    3) Ellen Lewis: Richards (my ex's) mother passed away from lung cancer only a little more than a month after we started dating. She'd been in the ICU since I met him, and they knew she wasn't going to make it. I went to support him.

So there you have it! The stories or reasons behind all 21 truths! :)

  • A letter to cake

    Dear cake,

You've been in my life practically since the beginning. You were present at everyone's birthday and even on special occasions. Everyone enjoyed your presence and was happy to see you. This isn't a surprise. You're sweet and delicious, who wouldn't like you?

Around the time I was fourteen you began to scare me. It seems irrational, but that's the truth.. you scared me. At my fifteenth birthday you were present, but it was more so for other people. Yes, you were pretty- a white cake dyed purple with pink vanilla frosting- but you weren't there for my pleasure. Even the tiniest thought of consuming any of you would strike me with anxiety.

Other peoples birthdays past, as with trips to my grandparents- which always included cake and loads of other desserts- and holidays, such as Christmas which you were sure to attend. Along came my sixteenth birthday... I was in the hospital for the twenty first day. Surprisingly enough the nurses and techs gave me presents for my birthday! Not surprisingly enough, they also brought you and your friend ice cream. I refused to accept you and drank a ensure instead.

Another year passed filled with birthdays, holidays, baby showers, and other events you attended; yet I stayed away from you. I feared you! If someone tried to force me to consume any of you, I'd fight back and refuse. Heck, I'd pick letting a snake slither on me over consuming you! That's how much I was afraid of you!

My eighteen birthday rolled around and mother asked if I wanted to invite you this year. I told her no, that was quite unnecessary. It seemed odd how people could enjoy you so much and consume you so carefree; yet here I sat trembling in your mere presence.

Erin's birthday was a month ago, and I finally faced you again. I didn't really want to, but I knew Erin really wanted me to. Besides, you were in your cute cupcake form, which meant I could know exactly how much I had consumed and know the numbers so I could accept that. Plus I hadn't had any breakfast or lunch that day, so a cupcake at 3:30 was fine.

I'm writing this letter today because it's my little brother, Connor's 16th birthday. Today you arrived in a white confetti form to celebrate his big day. But today was not like any encounter we'd recently had. I wasn't fearful of you, you didn't scare me in the least. I actually felt somewhat excited to see greet you. 100_4084

So this letter here today is written to let you know; no longer will I fear you, no longer will I cower in your presence, you do not have control over me, and I am not afraid of you anymore.

    100_4083

Today, I ate a piece of birthday cake along with my family and felt guilt-free about it. To be completely honest, I had two pieces.. the second piece was only for frosting purposes, but none the less, I ate it and I enjoyed it! I have no idea how many calories, how many grams of fat, or how much sugar it had... and I don't give a flying duck. It was good and I enjoyed it with my Mom, Dad, and little brother as we celebrated his birthday.

    P.S.

I just had my Mom come in here so I could let her read this and it made her cry. *blush* It takes a lot to make her cry.

  • Rant (vlog)

    '

I filmed this right before 1 A.M. last night/this morning, but after waiting thirty minutes for it to "complete transcoding" (What ever that means...) I had to call it quits and hit my pillow, I was exhausted. So yeah, now that I'm up and I've showered I figured I'd go ahead and post it.

  • SECRETS SHOCKER!

    WHOA!

This touched me, seriously. I've never have anyone mention me on @ConfessionsandSecrets before, so this was an unexpected and pleasant surprise! I'm racking my brain trying to figure out who might have submitted it, but I can't come up with a definite person.

It'd be great if you could help me out by commenting so below or private messaging me? @Semper_medusa and I are both very curious lol. But if you don't want to I'll understand also.

Regardless, I'm glad you've been clean for two years; that truly is amazing! And I'm glad I was able to help in any way. Keep up the good work <3

  • Thank yous!

Okay, so I don't have a whole lot of time before I have work, but I was still trying to go through all my recent stuff and catch up on reply to people. Unfortunately when I get busy and don't have much time to get on here the majority of my time is spent either writing post or reading and commenting on other post, and the responding gets put on the back burner... none the less, I thought I'd take this quit break to do some of that.

Since I'm being lazy time efficient, I thought I'd respond to every one that commented on my pulse, "Leaving for my first day of college.. EEP!Wish me luck!" in one quick post, as oppose to having to reply on my pulse to everyone individually...

@JustPlainMorgie, @ gilly_owens, @EqualpacketZzz, @ohveryoung, @thegirlwiththecamera, @sf2slc, @MySoldier_MyWorld, @malestop, @soulofacancer, @GreekPhysique, @lovejennyy, @firetyger, @galadrielspitcher, @ccrider17, bittersweetreflections - Thank you so much to all of you. I had a great first day and your wishes and comments really made me feel special and happy. Sorry this is all clustered together, but it was a lot easier for me. I still really do appreciate it!

P.S. I just thought I'd inform you all that my spell checker has decided your names are all spelled wrong. Whoops. Don't feel bad though, it thinks my username and REAL name are spelled wrong.

  • Revealing my lies

So last Sunday I posted "21 truths and 2 lies" promising to later reveal to everyone which two were really the lies.

@Under_the_carpet and @sf2slc got it halfway right...

Out of all 23 secrets, the two lies were...

#12: I was born on my due date.

[My due date was April 18th, but I didn't feel like waiting so I came on the 7th.]

#21: I used to have my nose pierced, but it grew in.

[Never been pierced and I don't have any intentions of changing that lol]

Everything else was completely true haha. :)

Oh, and so everyone that was kind enough to participate in this can see the lies... @lonelywanderer2, @willjogforicecream, @brrraaaiiins, @bellarissa, @Randy7777, @soulofacancer.

  • Normality is pretty awesome :)

You know what's pretty awesome and amazing?

I haven't been weighing myself daily or anywhere near it. I might weigh myself once or twice a week, and sometimes I might go longer than a week just because I don't think about it. Recently my weight has balanced around 95-97 lbs. Which surprisingly, I'm okay with.

Wednesday night, my Mom, Connor, and I went out to eat at Purple Cow. I had a garden burger (which was quite large lol), a cup of fruit as a side, and a purple milk shake. For those of you not familiar with The Purple Cow, it's a restaurant/diner here in Arkansas (they have two locations in Little Rock and one in Hot Springs) which has a purple vanilla milkshake as their house-speciality drink. It was originally made by Yarnell's, but as I'm sure you know that shut down, so they sold the recipe to Bluebell. Any-whoo...

    100_4046

This is what I had with my dinner. It was good!

Then last night I went out to dinner with my Dad and we went to a really authentic Mexican restaurant. My Mom's always commented how Mexican food was so much better than the tex-mex stuff you get at taco bell and I never really understood her. After trying to figure out what everything was on the menu... [ehh... No Habla Espanol  ]

    I ended up getting this..

    Mine

I ate pretty much all of my chicken taco, a quarter-third of my chicken quesadilla, pretty much all of my rice, and about three-fourths of the beans. Oh, plus I munch on some chips and salsa while waiting for your food to be ready because I was famished!

This morning after I got up and showered, I decided to weigh myself.. not because it mattered, I was just a little curious. I expected 98 or 99... so imagine my surprise when it showed between 95 and 96! I guess it just goes to prove I can eat a lot more than I thought and just maintain weight. This is pretty awesome.

I plan on taking Connor out to eat somewhere on Sunday (because his 16th birthday is Saturday and I have NO idea what to get him!) and I'm actually pretty excited about it.

Being normal is kind of fun :)

  • First day + dinsum!

Oh my goodness! So quick overview of my day.

    It. Was. Awesome.

I left the house about 10am after having to endure my Mom's annoying 'photo shoot'. I wouldn't mind so much but she's not that great of a photographer (eey, that sounds harsh but she doesn't read this so whatever), so a lot of her pictures turn out unflattering and I'm already sort body conscious so it's just not a fun combination. Anyways, once I got there I drove around for about 15 minutes looking for a spot but there weren't any in the two lots I was looking in (I only have open lot access because we didn't want to spend a lot on parking) so I ended up parking at the walgreens across the street from campus and walking all the way over.

My first class was History and I had Dr. Romney. She seemed nice and really quirky. But I'm quirky too, so I liked her :) haha. She said our exams will be essays and that kind of intimidates me, but I'm going to take advantage of the Writing Center on campus, plus I'm going to get into a study group that our SI [supplementary instructor] is creating.

Next I had Comp. 1 and it was good. Our Professor was young (28) and wants us to call her by her first name, Jessica, because Ms. Sahene makes her feel old... and she's NOT old. Lol. This is her first year teaching and she seems really nice. As long as you try, you don't text in class, and you attend you should be fine pretty much. You know, basic stuff.

Last, I had Sociology. It was my biggest class so far, consisting of fifty-some odd people versus the 15-20 people I had in my first two classes. For this class I had Dina Nash, who also likes being called by her first name, though I'm not sure how comfortable I am with that. (She's 66 so I feel as though I'm being disrespectful calling her Dina vs. Mrs. Nash) She says she likes informality though, so we'll see. I think I should do well in this class, she seems to really be strict on attendance, reading the material, and taking notes. I can manage that.

Tomorrow I have Anatomy and Physiology from 12:00-12:50 and that's all for the day... well I have work, but I mean school wise. We already had to write a short paper on our future (or dreams) in comp 1 today and I'm excited to see what I get back on that. I've done the small amount of reading there is for history, I did the comp 1 reading while I was out at rugby practice with Connor. And I still have to read chapter one of sociology by Tuesday and write a one page biography about myself by next Thursday.

The reason I went to watch rugby was so I could go out with my Dad afterward to get some dinner. I was hungry because my lunch consisted of a granola bar at noon, another one about 1:30pm, an apple when I got home a little after three, and a banana about 4:15. So I was wanting some real food haha. Once we left rugby about 8:30pm we headed down south to a place I'd never been -nor heard of before- La Frontiera. It was a very authentic Mexican restaurant. Dad got a la frontiera burrito, which is there house burrito, and huge if I don't say so myself...

    Dad's

It was seriously a foot long! And it was big in circumference! LOL

    Mine

And I got a combination meal with a chicken taco, a chicken quesadilla, with beans and rice on the side. IT WAS YUMMY! Not to mention I was starving, lol.

We weren't pigs though, Dad only ate half his burrito and I ate my chicken taco, my rice, 75% of my beans, and only about a fourth of my quesadilla. Oh, and we weren't wasteful either, we brought my Mom the left overs haha.

It was definitely a good first day. But I'm calling it a night for now, so good night xanga!
